OUR STORY
Kona Clay began in Maine with a dog named Kona, my loyal studio companion and best friend from the very start. As a puppy, Kona and his littermates were each given names inspired by trees. His was Gingko, a name that stayed close to my heart and later became the leaf logo that represents the studio today.
Kona would sit quietly at the foot of my potter’s wheel, grounding my creative process as clay took shape. From long studio days to farmers markets where we sold our work side by side, he was always part of the soul behind my craft. Though Kona is no longer at my side, his spirit continues to inspire every piece I create.
Today, I’m joined in the studio by Skeeter, my adopted bunny rabbit. His favorite spot is sitting perfectly centered on the pottery wheel when it’s not in use, and nestled by the pedal when it is, keeping me company much like Kona once did.
Kona Clay is where memory and spirit carry forward, shaping every hand-thrown and hand-built piece with care. Each creation is made with intention, a connection of love, story and home.
